Frank Chuang

Frank Chuang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at National Chengchi University (NCCU), Taiwan. He received his PhD from University College London (UCL), where his research focused on sustainability, governance, and computational modeling. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at The Alan Turing Institute, the United Kingdom's national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.

Frank directs the Future Systems Lab (FSL; 未來系統實驗室), an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to advancing sustainability through information systems research. The lab integrates artificial intelligence, blockchain, and computational social science to investigate how emerging technologies and institutional design shape governance, incentives, and collective action. Through interdisciplinary and data-driven research, it seeks to develop innovative approaches to complex business and societal challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future. It is also known as the Quantum Pepe Lab (QuPepe Lab; 量子佩佩實驗室), reflecting both its commitment to sustainability and its culture of scientific curiosity, playful creativity, and unconventional thinking. After all, Pepe is green. 🐸

Frank currently supervises ten graduate researchers. The lab welcomes curious and motivated students who question conventional wisdom, think across disciplinary boundaries, and pursue rigorous research on meaningful real-world problems.
